The environment of the MónNatura Pirineus offers a wide range of landscapes, colours, and light, all of which vary throughout the year according to the season, revealing the same landscapes but with different nuances. We can walk and penetrate deep into the shady pine forests, listen to the cry of the black woodpecker, or see dozens of butterflies flying over the meadows.

THE VILLAGE OF SON AND THE VALLEYS OF ÀNEU
The MónNatura Pirineus is located a few kilometres from Son (Pallars Sobirà), which is about half an hour’s walk from the Centre. This slightly terraced Pyrenean village, 1393 m above sea level, with only 25 residents, is characterized by the silhouette of the Romanesque church of San Just and San Pastor, an example of traditional mountain village architecture.

AIGÜESTORTES NATIONAL PARK AND LAKE SANT MAURICI
One of the attractions of the area around the MónNatura Pirineus is the Aigüestortes National Park and the Lake Sant Maurici, one of twelve Spanish national parks and the only one in Catalonia. This park, which is the main tourist attraction in the region and one of the driving forces behind the local economy, boasts all the characteristic features of this mountainous region.
